Carly Cassella is a Journalist at ScienceAlert. Carly cut her journalistic teeth at Farrago magazine whilst studying neuroscience as an undergraduate at the University of Melbourne. Here, she received the Fitzpatrick Award for Science Communication.

After graduating, Carly interned at the International Federation of Journalists in Brussels and also at Australian Geographic in Sydney. Since then, she has worked in award-winning podcast production, and written multiple YouTube scripts with millions of views.

Her work has been published in Australian Geographic, High Country News, and more.

When Carly isn’t reading or writing about science, she enjoys birding, gardening, drawing, and printing.
