Rebecca Dyer is the Assistant Editor at ScienceAlert. She holds a Bachelor of Medical Science with majors in neuroscience and nutrition, and has undertaken graduate study in Data Science. This gives her a strong foundation for translating scientific research into stories that are accurate, interesting, and accessible to a broad audience.

Rebecca is especially fascinated by the science of human bodies: our brains, genetics, health, and medical breakthroughs. She also has a keen interest in physics and technology.

Rebecca joined ScienceAlert in 2022, bringing experience in medical administration and professional media. She has also instructed aerial hoop classes and volunteered with a domestic violence prevention charity.

Outside work, Rebecca spends much of her time outdoors – often challenging her extreme fear of heights by climbing mountains, hiking around the world, and spinning upside down on an aerial hoop.

She lives by the ocean with her partner, where they often spot dolphins from their living room.
